  1. Thank you Cathy for taking the time to make these youtube videos without them I never would have started making my own soaps. A big thank you to Jackie for your formula into making a truly liquid soap that is easy to follow. Again thank you both.

  2. 1) it is necessary to add sodium lactate

    2) if i would like to add additives like

The percentage to be added for 500 gram base soap.

    3) the super fat needed to be kept ( percentage)

4)is any harm for using phenoxyethanol

  3. We had a big problem with the final cooking process. The contents started foaming, expanding and overflowing when the temp was only at 130f causing us to transfer to some to cooking pots. Soap foam everywhere!

  4. Hi, I over mixed while establishing trace…now I have a thick paste that I have attacked with a potato masher. Is it possible to still develop a usable liquid soap? It’s cooking now. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻is this something that has happened to others?

  5. Cannu do a video on how to make a formula for liquid soap because I tried to do this 16 oz but couldn't figure out how much sodium to use help please

  6. Are there other options to use as the emulsifier? Is it possible to leave it out? Can you just use the liquid soap on its own vs as a foaming soap and in that case leave out the emulsifier and preservative?

  7. Jackie Thompson is wonderful. Do understand the product she is making here is designed for soap foamers which is thin…think 1 part reg liquid soap to 4 parts distilled water — the fact she is mixing the Lye's gives the best lather in the world! I do not bother with potassium carbonate because it was mainly known to help "stirring" in the old spoon days – so I have always omitted that. Near the end she does add Essential oils and then PolySorbate 80 to help clear it. I would totally add the EO's to the P80 1:1 before I introduced it into the last step in my soaps. I will try adding VG right to the Sodium Lye solution because she said it speeds up saponification and I did not know that! VG will offset the drying nature of coconut oil–so why I would use VG in a high coconut formula. I was surprised she used a preservative. I'm not sure that is necessary depending on the pH of her soap which was not mentioned. Both Potassium and Sodium Hydroxide I prepare in the SINK and with gloves and eye protection. It will burn the heck out of you as will the raw soap until it is REALLY cooked.

  8. I tried it but I exchanged olive oil and coconut oil ratio of course with new lye calculation. In trace it was like morocco cream soap. I added the others and waiting for liquid form, there is still paste in it. I want to ask, how much did you cook after adding carbonate solution ? Thank you !

  9. Interesting. I wonder if you have a tutorial for dishwashing liquid soap and laundry soap. Also, how much does the materials cost compared to the commercial ones? Ie. How many bottles can you make in a batch and how much did you spend on that batch? Where do you buy all these ingredients?

  10. Do you need to use Sodium Hydroxide when using the "no paste method"?
I noticed that all of your no paste methods in the book, have Sodium Hydroxide in the recipe. The reason why I ask is because it's difficult for me to source Sodium Hydroxide in my country. However, KOH I can source easily.
